Welcome one and all to Tune-Up Thursdays with Aerhyn!
Today, I've coupled up my Tune-Up Thursday track with some Throwback Thursday sentiment.
More recently, I've performed this song and arrangement with Sarabande at our last spring pub concert (another one is on the way, BTW - details when I know them). And it wasn't the first time I had performed this song with the Bach choir family, as we had done it once in Youth Choir, and once in Sine Nomine.
But, the #TBT part is that originally, I first performed this arrangement with my high school vocal jazz ensemble in my graduating year. Carrie Taylor had an awesome choir program back at Moscrop and Burnaby Central for many years. After the birth of her 3rd son, she scaled back to only working at one school, and enrollment/interest in a vocal jazz ensemble had disappeared. In '99/'00, Stephen Nichols, Laura Redman, Felicity Hearst, Leah Emmott, Geoffrey Colpitts, Carol, a few others that I can't remember right now, and I started our own little vocal combo, and this arrangement was part of our repertoire.
So today's track is Bob Chilcott's acapella arrangement of Billy Joel's classic: And So It Goes.
By the by, you know that choir that I sing in that I've mentioned a lot? Well, we're singing a concert next Thursday at Ryerson United Church on 2195 W45th Avenue. We will be performing with the Vancouver Bach Youth Choir, and will have a great mix of music styles from european church music to Stevie Wonder acapella covers, as well as solo & group performances from and handful of choristers!

And as always, I'm happy to collaborate or tackle any arrangements or requests you may have!!! Enjoy my Tune-Up Thursday track and have a great rest of the week!
