Happy late late Thursday everyone! And I apologize for the last minute posting! I was too caught up in recording the next track (as well as going out for a bike ride with the Thursday Evening Social Club that I totally forgot to upload this week's #TuneUpThursdays offering!

Today's track is inspired by my participation in choirs. Aside from my school choirs (both elementary, high school, and college), I have had the privilege to sing for two local choirs. 3 years with Academy West Schola Cantorum (now known as the BC Girls Choir), and I just finished my 27th season with the Vancouver Bach Family of choirs.

I have literally grown up in choirs and owe a lot of who I am, as well as my career in music/musical theatre to my various choir conductors & choir administrators: the late Joyce O. Maguire (a.k.a. the Dragon Lady), Mary Lage, Carrie Taylor, David Grieve, the late Diane Loomer, Rupert Lang, Susan James, Fiona Blackburn, Lars Kaario, Scott Leithead, Paula Kremer, and of course the great Bruce Pullan.

In a few weeks, Sarabande will be doing our last concert with Paula Kremer for the next little bit as she takes a break for a year. And as of September, I will be adding another conductor/mentor to that long list: Shane Raman.

A few weeks ago, we welcomed Shane to our family of choirs when we asked him to solo for us when we performed this week's song at the annual end-of-year concert at the Chan Centre. This song also holds dear to me because it was one of the first songs I heard from the girls at AWSC when I first joined their choir.

So I present to you my acapella arrangement of Willi Zwozdesky's arrangement of Connie Kaldor's choral piece "Wood River". Enjoy!
