Happy Holidays everyone, and welcome to Day 2 of #AerhynsAcapellaAdvent Calendar!!!

Today, I'd like to talk about tradition. Every one has at least one thing that they do every year around the holiday time.

For my family, since 1990, the first first Sunday of December was usually spent at the Orphem Theatre in downtown Vancouver, singing at the Christmas With The Bach Choir concert with my brothers, my best friend Richard, and all of our choir family.

And even within the concert itself, I had my own traditions. Even after my voice changed as I went through puberty, I still sang the descants to the mass sung hymns at the concert. And even though I was a full grown man, I'd sing along with the younglings of the VBCC in my falsetto voice because I couldn't *not* sing their songs. And like clockwork, every time we start singing "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas", I start tearing up because that song is so damn sentimental.

2018 marks the first year since December 1990 that there is not a single Lau singing in the concert. My brothers left the choir for their various reasons, but while technically I'm still in the choir, being in Thunder Bay on a theatre contract means that I'm not at the Orpheum today (Dec 2nd) to sing with them.

So what better song to cover on this day, the CWBC concert day, than this one? As it's one part of my childhood that I could never let go. (Though, I am chuffed that I never got selected for this solo.
