At last, we get to #Day24 of the 2016 edition of #AerhynsAcapellaAdvent Calendar! Before I talk about today's acapella Christmas cover, I'd like to thank each and every one of you for listening to my holiday music this year!

Even though the reach for this music isn't as vast as I wish it could be, I'm very appreciative that you've all included me in part of your holidays. I'm glad to know that I could put a smile on you and your family's faces!

So! Today's track is special in two ways! The first is that it is arranged by Sam Dabrusin. I first met Sam when I came back to #Sarabande rehearsals after being on tour for a show. He's really into music, and has composed and arranged his own pieces. I later discovered that he's the brother to my friend Lena, who wrote the acclaimed "Period Song". So that's where I learnt he came from good musical genes.

His arrangement of this is is interesting and new, and that's what drew me to it. This song specifically, is also sung annually at the Christmas with the #VancouverBachChoir at the Orpheum theatre in Vancouver. And as our artistic director Marissa Gaetanne discovered recently, this song (usually sung in unison at the end of the concert) brings me to tears every time it is sung. Something about the lyrics to this song just tugs on my heartstrings, and the waterworks begin.
